Monohulls

Club members own Precision, Catalina, McGregor, Hunter and other similar “day sailers” which are wet sailed from our docks. While termed day sailors, many are equipped to sleep and cook for overnight ventures and members take advantage of other marinas around the lake for longer trips.  For those considering sailing for the first time, monohull sailboats this size are the perfect way to learn to sail, without breaking the bank. No wind, no problem, just motor out. They are a safe, fun and inexpensive way to recharge your batteries with friends and family. Swimming in the lake, tethered to your boat a quarter mile off shore, is pristine and sunsets are breathtaking. Some board boat and catamaran members also maintain a monohull for lower wind days, entertaining on a stable platform and not getting wet!

Ease of Use

There are many advantages sailing your monohull out of our club besides cost.  Other working sail clubs on the lake may have other amenities but we have a beach, beautiful grounds and a more casual vibe.  Our “Wall” docks across from PYC are perfect for monohulls under 22 feet. Nestled well within the harbor, even in the most windy conditions, Salmon Creek where our boats are docked is flat. Day Sailers at our club have retractable keels, so regardless of lake level or silt conditions in the creek, we never have an issue motoring in and out of the harbor.

Safety

Club members share Sail Patrol duty one day each season so there is always someone watching out for your safety on weekends. The club maintains a rescue power boat for use by our on duty Sail Patrol and Pultneyville Fire and Water Rescue is on the scene for any serious issues requiring professional aid.

Racing

The Pultneyville Yacht Club has a very active racing program and with our reciprocal agreement, joining PYC for a race is common. Every year, the two clubs have a Commodores Challenge race to square off both clubs in a match race.

Cost

PMC provides exceptional value for monohull boats up to 22 feet. The cost to dock your boat in the water on the PMC wall across from the Pulneyville Yacht Club is about $760 for the season. We have a working ramp to launch your boat off your trailer and retrieve it for winter storage on our property.
